Zendesk + Distil

Transform Zendesk Tickets into Product Roadmap Items

Your support team is sitting on some of your most valuable product intelligence — it is just locked inside Zendesk tickets. Distil automatically imports those tickets, uses AI to extract structured product insights, and lets your team push to Linear or Jira with one click.

Why Zendesk tickets rarely reach the product roadmap

Support teams do their job. They resolve tickets, apply tags, close conversations. But the product insight buried inside those tickets — the recurring pain points, the segmented frustrations, the workarounds customers have invented — rarely makes it to the people building the roadmap.

The handoff problem is structural. Product managers do not live in Zendesk. Support leads do not speak in the structured language of product requirements. When support tries to escalate feedback, it usually comes as a Slack message, a forwarded thread, or a quarterly "top issues" spreadsheet. By then, the raw customer signal has been heavily filtered and the urgency is gone.

Distil automates this handoff. It connects directly to your Zendesk account, imports tickets on a schedule, and runs each one through an AI pass that extracts a structured product card. The result is a queue of roadmap-ready cards your product team can review, accept, and push to Linear or Jira — without anyone having to read a ticket queue.

The complete Zendesk-to-roadmap workflow

From Zendesk ticket to Linear or Jira issue, automated end-to-end.

1

Connect Zendesk and set your import filters

Connect your Zendesk account via OAuth. Configure which tickets Distil should import: by tag (feature_request, feedback, bug), status (new, open, pending), or priority (high, urgent). Distil polls hourly and imports matching tickets automatically.

Example filter configuration
Tags: feature_request, feedback
Status: new, open
Priority: high, urgent
2

AI structures each ticket into a product card

Distil reads the ticket subject, description, and conversation history. The AI extracts a structured card: core problem statement, affected user segment, severity, root cause, workaround if one exists, and success criteria. Duplicate feedback across multiple tickets is surfaced as a frequency signal.

Enterprise customers cannot filter data exports by date range

Affects compliance teams on enterprise plan. 14 tickets in 60 days. Workaround: full export + manual filter. Success: date range picker in export modal.

Review cards in Distil's inbox

Structured cards appear in your Distil inbox for review. Scan quickly, edit if needed, and accept the ones that are ready. The review step keeps your team in control — no unreviewed issues reach your roadmap tool.

4

Push to Linear or Jira with one click

Accept the card and push to Linear or Jira. The issue is created with title, description, and priority pre-filled. A link to the originating Zendesk ticket is embedded automatically for full traceability.
